To update where-used data in SAP Global Batch Traceability (SAP GBT), you can use transaction /GBT/EVENT_COLLECT to execute report /GBT/R_EVENT_COLLECTOR in SAP GBT.

Integration

For integration with SAP ERP, you must have installed integration component GBTRINT. For more information, see section Prerequisites. This integration component supports the following integration mechanisms:

  • Every time a material document is created in SAP ERP, a new entry in the batch where-used list (table CHVW) is also created. A prerequisite for this is that the material is subject to batch management requirement and the movement type is relevant for batch where-used records.

  • Additionally, an entry in the transfer table for SAP GBT in the integration component GBTRINT is created.

  • Report /GBT/R_EVENT_COLLECTOR in SAP GBT transfers the following via remote function call (RFC):

    • The batch where-used information from the transfer table

    • The relevant attributes of the connecting business documents related to the batch where-used information, for example, the relevant attributes of the production order related to a batch

The following figure illustrates these integration mechanisms:

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

Delta Load of Where-Used Data from SAP ERP

All material movements relevant for the batch where-used list (table CHVW) in SAP ERP are also relevant for SAP GBT. In addition, SAP GBT considers further material movements of batch managed materials between locations, which are not considered in the batch where-used list. For more information, see SAP Note 1706299.

Prerequisites

  • For integration with SAP ERP as of release 6.0, you must have installed integration component GBTRINT.

  • To determine which where-used data SAP ERP should transfer to SAP GBT, you have maintained the SAP GBT-relevant plants. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose   Cross-Application Components   SAP Global Batch Traceability   Data Collection in SAP ERP   Specify Filter for Events  .

Activities

To update where-used data in SAP GBT, on the SAP Easy Access screen choose   Cross-Application Components   SAP Global Batch Traceability   Data Collection in SAP ERP   Collect Events  .

You have the following selection options:

  • Logical system

  • Package size, that is, the size of the transfer packages for events

Recommendation Recommendation

To update where-used data automatically, we recommend that you plan report /GBT/R_EVENT_COLLECTOR as a periodic background job.

End of the recommendation.
