Uploading Vocabularies into the Vocabulary RepositoryLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If you want to use customer-specific annotations in addition to core attributes (SAP annotations) while defining data model artifacts in Service Builder projects, you can upload the annotations collectively in the form of a vocabulary file into the Vocabulary Repository. The Vocabulary Repository already includes a selection of standard vocabulary files and these are available in the /IWBEP/ name-space. You can import the annotations contained in a vocabulary file into Service Builder projects of type Service with Vocabulary-Based Annotations and Annotation Model for Referenced Service. After importing, you can use vocabulary-based annotations to define additional information about the artifacts in your data model.

Procedure

To upload a vocabulary file into the Vocabulary Repository in the Service Builder, proceed as follows:

  1. Start the Service Builder in transaction SEGW.

  2. Choose Start of the navigation path Extras  Next navigation step Vocabulary Repository End of the navigation path. The central Vocabulary Repository opens and shows a table for displaying the vocabulary ID, version, name-space, and description. Any previously uploaded vocabulary files are displayed here, otherwise the table is empty.

  3. Click Display/Change to change to edit mode and click Insert Rowto add a new row to the table.

  4. Enter a unique vocabulary ID for the vocabulary file you want to upload. Version 1 is assigned automatically to the first version of the vocabulary file you upload.

  5. Click the Upload Content icon in the Upload Vocabulary Content column to navigate to the vocabulary file you want to upload. The name-space of the vocabulary file is entered automatically.

  6. Enter a description for the newly uploaded vocabulary file.

  7. Save the changes and click Enter.

Result

Subsequently, the uploaded vocabulary file can be imported into Service Builder projects of type Service with Vocabulary-Based Annotations and Annotation Model for Referenced Service, so the terms defined in this file can be used to annotate data models.
