Use

This characteristic contains the reason for a particular sales process or document flow. The reason is stored in CRM as a code in the subject profile.

For example, if a sales order has arisen from a chain of events including an opportunity, several activities, and then a sales order, this characteristic contains the reason for the original opportunity, and therefore the whole process.
