This key figure provides a means of checking to what extent a retailer is keeping to the agreements of a trade promotion. The key figure records the sales quantity delivered to a retailer by a manufacturer on the conditions of a trade promotion, but not sold to the consumer by the retailer during the trade promotion. The advantage for retailers is that they can buy goods at a reasonable price without passing on the competitive price to the consumer.
