Process documentationAutom. Generation of a VAS Order for the Warehouse Request Item

You can generate value-added service orders (VAS orders) automatically in Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to document and monitor these value-added services.

Prerequisites

You have defined in your system that you want EWM to create VAS orders automatically. For more information, see the Customizing for EWM Start of the navigation path Cross-Process Settings Next navigation step Value-Added Services Next navigation step Define Relevance for VAS Order End of the navigation path.

You have defined a packaging specification (see also packaging specification).

Process

  1. You get a delivery from SAP ERP or create a delivery manually.

  2. EWM checks whether it has to generate a VAS order automatically, and does so if this is the case.

In the goods receipt process, you can configure automatic generation of VAS orders in such a way that EWM does not generate the VAS order until the goods receipt is posted.

If you have defined in Customizing that EWM is not to generate the VAS order automatically, then the VAS Order status has the value Not Relevant.

If the warehouse request item is consistent, for example, the Blocked (Inconsist. Item) status has the value No, EWM creates the VAS order. If the status has the value Yes, EWM creates the VAS order once the warehouse request is saved as consistent, or at the latest when a transfer order is created for the warehouse request item.

If there is no packaging specification, EWM does not create a VAS order. You have to create or activate an existing packaging specification. EWM creates the VAS order when the warehouse request is changed and saved afterwards, or at the latest when a transfer order is created for the warehouse request item.

  3. EWM saves the number of the VAS order as a document flow for the warehouse request item.

  4. If you have activated the VAS Order in the status profile of the item type for the warehouse request item, EWM sets the VAS Order status of the warehouse request item to Generated.

Result

EWM has automatically generated the VAS order. You can use it for the confirmation of services (see also Processing a VAS Order).

When you edit the VAS order, EWM changes the status VAS order of the warehouse request item (see also: Updating the Warehouse Request Using the VAS Order).
