The
Planning f
unction is a planning aid that enables you to copy planning values automatically from business transactions that can also be planned
manually. This offers the following advantages:
You can reuse large parts of your manual planning from the previous year for your current fiscal year.
You can transfer plan values within a fiscal year across different periods.
You can generate alternative versions.
You can use SAP enhancements to extend the standard functions for copying plan data.
If you want the plan allocation data (such as assessment or distribution) to also be available in the target version, you need to make the corresponding allocations in the target version.
You need to create the cycles in the target version. You can copy the cycles in the reference version for this.
You can copy the following planning data:
Primary costs/revenues
Primary costs (not dependent on activity)
Primary costs (dependent on activity)
Revenues
Secondary costs
Activity input (not dependent on activity)

Other secondary costs (not dependent on activity)

Prices
When copying planning values, you are able to specify the leading currency for costs and for prices. The standard settings is such that the system uses the transaction currency for the costs, and the controlling area for the prices.
If, in the settings for the controlling area, you have not set the
All currencies
indicator in the target fiscal year, the system automatically selects the controlling area currency as the leading currency.
The system transfers the leading currency 1:1 from the reference version to the target version. The system determines all other currencies in the target version according to the value date and the exchange rate type.

Transaction currency
You can only select the transaction currency if you have already selected
All currencies
in the reference and target fiscal year of your controlling area. If, however, this indicator is not selected in a given fiscal year, the system automatically selects the controlling area currency as the leading currency.
If you have planned using the transaction currency, you must also copy using the transaction currency.

in the reference and target version of your controlling area. If, however, this indicator is not selected in a given version, the system automatically selects the controlling area currency as the leading currency.
The transaction currency is set as a default.
Controlling area currency
The controlling area currency is set as a default.

You can enhance the standard functions for copying planning data. You can process the data imported for copying before you transfer it to the planning interface for validation and updating. For this, you can use the enhancement COOMKPT4.
