Operation Notification or Header Notification?

Within the confirmation, you can enter or edit notifications for the order. Here, you can find out under which circumstances the system creates or calls up a header notification or an operation notification.

The system reacts differently depending on whether the notification integration is active or not.

Prerequisites without Notification Integration

You have not activated the notification integration in Customizing for Plant Maintenance and Customer Service under Define Notification- and Order Integration . (This setting also corresponds to the development status up until release 4.6C).

Activities and Effects

You confirm with the individual time confirmation . You confirm with the overall completion confirmation , and with a confirmation profile that does not contain any notification screens.
Choose Notification or the pushbutton Notification.	If a header notification already exists for the order, the system switches to this notification. If no header notification yet exists for the order, the system creates a header notification.
Choose Environment Object List or the pushbutton Object List .	The system switches to the object list. If the order already contains notifications in the object list, the system displays these notifications. These can be processed from the object list. You can create additional object list notifications using Create Notification . It is not possible to create a header notification from the object list.
You confirm with the overall completion confirmation, and with a confirmation profile that does contain notification screens . No header notification has yet been assigned to the order.
The entry screens of the notification are ready for input if a notification type is defaulted in the order. You input data on the entry screen.	A header notification is created from this input data when you save. This is also the case if you create additional notifications from the object list. The data you input on the entry screen is no longer displayed when you return from the object list, but it is nonetheless copied to the header notification and saved there.
The entry screens of the notification are not ready for input if no notification type is defaulted in the order. Once you have created at least one notification in the object list and have returned to the entry screen, the screen is ready for input. You can input data.	The data you input is assigned to the notification that you last processed in the object list. To assign data to a specific notification, you must switch from the object list directly to the notification and enter the data there. A header notification is not created.
You confirm with the overall completion confirmation, and with a confirmation profile that does contain notification screens . A header notification has already been assigned to the order.
The entry screen is ready for input. You input data on the entry screen.	The input data is assigned to the header notification. This is also the case if you create additional notifications from the object list. This data is no longer displayed when you return to the entry screen, but is nonetheless copied to the header notification and saved there.
