Function documentation Price Matrix for Variants of Generic Articles Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

There is a matrix for maintaining prices for variants of generic articles, similar to the matrix you use for defining the variants themselves.

When you call up the price matrix for a given generic article, you first enter a validity period for which you want to maintain variant prices. This can be either an existing validity period (in which case you can change the displayed prices) or a new validity period if you want to maintain prices for a future season. The price maintenance function can only handle one period at a time.

In the matrix, the system displays prices for all existing variants of a generic article. If you want to add a variant, return to the basic data screen and create the new variant in the existing variant matrix. When you return again to the price matrix screen, the new variant will appear.

In the pricing profile in basic data for a generic article, you can decide whether all variants will have the same sales price, or have their own individual prices. You can also use one variant as a pricing article whose value is the sum of the prices of all the other variants. For example, if you have T-shirts that sell for $20, you could define a carton having 12 assorted T-shirts as a pricing article valued at $240 ($20 x 12). This makes it easy to maintain pricing groups on perhaps a size or color level.

Variants that inherit their sales prices from the generic article or from a pricing variant cannot have their own individual prices. In the price matrix, the price fields for those variants will not accept input. This way you can see quickly which variants you can maintain and which you cannot.
