Purpose

This section provides you with information about the content of, and the technical settings required for, the Business Package for Employee Self-Service. You make the settings in the portal and in the SAP backend system.

     Working Time (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_working_time)

     Travel Management (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_travel_expenses)

     Personal Information (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_personal_information)

     Benefits and Payment (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_benefits_payment)

     Career and Job (com.sap.pct.erp.ess.area_career_job)

If you want to use services from the Career and Job area, you must first install E-Recruiting. For more information, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) under SAP E-Recruiting.

Caution

The applications in the Business Package for Employee Self-Service have been converted to Web Dynpro technology. For information about the strategy for ITS-based applications, see SAP Note 870126.

Implementation Guide (IMG)

The IMG activities for the individual services are in the IMG under Personnel Management ® Employee Self-Service. This section of the IMG contains activities for configuring the applications that belong to the new version of the Business Package for Employee Self-Service. The section focuses on the applications for which the Customizing settings have changed as of mySAP ERP 2004.

The IMG activities of applications for which the Customizing settings have not changed as of mySAP ERP 2004 can be found in the IMG under Personnel Management ® Employee Self-Service ® Employee Self-Service (ITS Version).

Self-Services Homepage

The applications in the Business Package for Employee Self-Service are Web Dynpro applications. The pages on which you can call these applications are generated using the Self-Services Homepage in the SAP backend system and are displayed in the portal.

For more information about the Self-Services Homepage, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) of your SAP system under Personnel Management ® Employee Self-Service ® General Settings  ®Self-Services Homepage. This section of the IMG provides you with the technical data for the various applications. These services are assigned to the area group page SAPDEFAULTESS in the standard system.

      Note

      On the Homepage for Self-Services, all reusable objects are stored as resources. A resource defines the type of object and specifies where it is stored. This applies to services and pictures that are displayed on the area group page, Employee Self-Service and on the area pages.
