Simulation and Copying 

Use

Before you can activate a planned change, you can simulate the activation by having the system check the plausibility of the changes made. Using simulation, you can simulate the cross-hierarchy copying of changes to structure and article assignments, without these changes actually taking effect. You can decide whether copying and simulation are carried out with or without article assignments.

Once you have simulated the planned changes, you can activate them using the copy function. The copy function enables cross-hierarchy copying of substructures with article assignments or of just the substructures without article assignments. The attributes of the node or article are copied implicitly as well. Both functions simplify the planning and revision of assortment structures, as they mean you do not have to make the changes directly in the operational article hierarchy. They also make it easier for you to copy the revised structures to the operational hierarchy structure when you have finished planning.
