Creating New Shops in Several Department Stores 

Use

You use this function if you want to open a similar shop in several department stores for one of the following reasons:

·        You want to include a completely new category (article grouping) in the company for the first time.

·        You want to roll out a category that already exists in some department stores to other department stores.

Prerequisites

If you want to create a new shop, the relevant department stores must already be created as stores in the Department Store category. Whether or not the department stores already contain other shops is irrelevant. What is important is whether the specified category has already been created as a shop in the department store in question.

Features

The system can create a large percentage of the master data using the department store data combined with the data from an optional reference shop. However, there is also data that you must process on a shop-specific basis. You go to an additional data screen to do this. If you want to use different or additional customer-specific fields, you can use a modification-free enhancement to add a customer-specific screen to the additional data screen.

If you have created a new shop using the Create Shop function, the system creates all the data (including shop-specific data) on the basis of the existing data. The system uses the department store assigned to the new shop as a data source. The system can also combine data from a reference shop that can be adjusted to meet customer-specific requirements during the merge procedure using a modification-free enhancement.

Activities

You must set up the new shop in all existing department stores that are to sell the new category (special node in an article hierarchy).

You have the option of using a reference shop to reduce the amount of data you have to enter manually. The reference shop you choose can be from any department store and does not have to belong to the category in question. If you do not enter a reference shop, the system bases the data for the new shop on the department store data.

Before you have completed the shop definition, you must enter a description for the new shop. Depending on your Customizing settings, the system can also create customer-specific shop descriptions.

A further option is to enter a unique shop number. If you do not enter a shop number, the system determines the shop number internally from a defined number range interval.

On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Logistics ® Retailing ® Master Data ® Site Data ® Department Store/Shop ® Create Shops via Category.
