Use

You can create a new mobile homepage and share it with people in your organization.

Prerequisites
Procedure
Create a New Mobile Homepage
  1. In top-level navigation, choose Workspaces.

    The Workspace Directory appears.

  2. In the side panel below the My Workspaces panel, choose Create Mobile Homepage.

  3. Provide a name and an optional description.

  4. Select one of the provided mobile homepage templates. The templates available depend on the SAP NetWeaver Portal usage type (EP or EPC) that is installed, and whether the system administrator has imported the latest templates.

    Note

The layout and module content of each mobile homepage template is indicated graphically. You can display a legend of the module types and their icons by hovering over the Help icon next to the template images. After you create a mobile homepage, you cannot change its layout or the modules that it contains.

  5. If your administrator has enabled the expiration of workspaces, you can select a date or a time interval after which the mobile homepage will expire.

Expired mobile homepages remain visible in the Workspace Directory until deleted by a workspace administrator.

  6. Choose Create Mobile Homepage.

    Note

If an approval workflow has been implemented by your organization, the system sends an approval request to the defined approver.

The mobile homepage opens. It is marked as a draft workspace until it is published. You can now do the following:

  • Add members and managers to the mobile homepage.

You do this in the same way as for shared workspaces. For more information, see Managing Workspace Users.

  • When you have configured the mobile homepage modules and added members, publish the mobile homepage.

You do this in the same way as for shared workspaces. For more information, see Publish a Mobile Homepage below.

  • When the workspace is no longer needed, you can close it.

You do this in the same way as for shared workspaces. For more information, see Closing a Workspace.

Note

If your workspace administrator has configured quotas for workspaces, at the top of your mobile homepage screen you can see how much space your mobile homepage is currently using and the quota allotted to you.

Configure a Mobile Homepage
  1. To configure the properties of a mobile homepage, at the top of the mobile homepage screen choose Workspace settings.

  2. In the General Properties tab, you can change the Name or Description that you specified when creating the workspace.

  3. If your workspace administrator has configured quotas for workspaces, the General Properties tab includes a section that displays the quota details of the workspace. To request additional space, choose Request More Space.

Specify the additional space that you require, explain why you need more space, and choose OK to send the request via e-mail to the workspace administrator.

  4. Choose Done to save your changes and close the Workspace Settings screen.

Configure the Mobile Homepage Modules

The mobile homepage is created with a combination of several out-of-the-box modules, depending on the template that you selected during the creation process. You can change the name of each module by double-clicking the module name in the header.

You need to configure each of the modules so that they contain data at runtime. For more information, see:

Publish a Mobile Homepage

Publish the mobile homepage so that it can be viewed by members. Before you publish the mobile homepage, only mobile homepage managers can view its contents.

To publish the mobile homepage, at the top of the workspace screen, choose Publish Workspace.
