Purpose
You can use the virus scan interface to include external virus scanners in the SAP system to increase the security of your system. In this way, you can use a high-performance integration solution to scan documents that are being processed by applications for viruses. This applies both to applications delivered by SAP and to your own customer developments, such as data transfer across networks or when exchanging documents using interfaces.
This section relates to the use of the virus scan provider interface and classes in your own developments.
When should I use the virus scan interface?
If you cannot use the SAP standard integration for the upload (GUI or HTTP=, you need to implement the virus scan interface (more information: SAP Note 817623).
What restrictions apply to the virus scan interface?
To use the virus scan interface productively, you require a certified virus scan product from an external partner, set up in accordance with the vendor's instrcutions (more information: SAP Note 786179).
