Procedure documentation Changing the UME LDAP Configuration  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

Use this procedure to activate the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) connection between the user management engine (UME) and the LDAP directory and to provide the SSL port of the LDAP directory.

Prerequisites

This procedure requires you to restart the SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java, so you should plan for the required downtime while the AS Java restarts.

Procedure

...

       1.      Start user management configuration.

For more information, see Configuring User Management.

       2.      Choose the LDAP Server tab.

       3.      Choose Modify Configuration.

       4.      In the Server Port field, enter the SSL port of your LDAP directory.

The default SSL port for LDAP is 636.

       5.      Set the Use SSL for LDAP Access indicator.

       6.      Choose Test Connection.

If the test fails, user management configuration displays the entry from the security log. The monitoring tools of you LDAP directory can also help you to determine the cause of the problem. If necessary, go back and reenter the connection data and test the connection until you are successful.

       7.      Choose Save All Changes.

       8.      Restart the AS Java.
