Managing Groups Using the Group PanelLocate this document in the navigation structure

In the home page, you use the group panel to move, rename, delete, reset, and create new groups.

Prerequisites

  • The ability to personalize the home page is enabled in the launchpad configuration. For more infomation, see Launchpad Configuration Parameters.
  • The group panel is showing.

Context

The group panel lists all the available groups, and enables you to manage groups. To show or hide the group panel, click or tap the (Show/Hide group panel) icon located in the header bar.

The table describes the actions that you can perform in the group panel to personalize the home page.

Note You cannot move, rename, delete, or reset the default My Home group.
Action Description
Move a group Drag the group to the required location in the group panel. The location of the group on the home page changes accordingly.
Rename a group Double-click or double-tap the group name, edit it in the text box that opens, and press Enter. To discard the change while the text box is in focus, press the Esc key.
Delete a group Drag the group to the lower-right corner of the page where a trash can icon appears. The group is deleted along with all its tiles.
Note You can delete only groups that were created by yourself; you cannot delete groups that were predefined by the administrator.
Reset a group You can reset a predefined group that you personalized, back to its initial state.

Create a new group
  1. At the bottom of the group panel, click or tap New Group, enter a group name in the text box that opens, and press Enter. The new group name is added to end of the group list in the group panel, and an empty group, with a tile placeholder, is added to the end of the home page.
  2. In the tile placeholder, click or tap the tile catalog(Tile catalog) icon to open the tile catalog where you add tiles to the new group and to other groups.
