Structure Links and Hyperlinks
The Knowledge Warehouse structures contents in two ways:
A structure hierarchically defines a set of information objects and give users an overview of the contents available.
Links in structures (structure links) can refer to content objects or to other structures.
You can set a link to another structure in two different ways: as a normal structure link or as a structure include. In contrast to normal structure links, for included structures there is no structure change in the Web Browser when the user navigates to this substructure.
A hyperlink can represent a relationship between two content objects and can provide paths through the available contents for users.
The hyperlinks contained in content objects always refer to other content objects, but not to structures.
Both hyperlinks and structure links refer to logical info objects. The context parameters control which version of such a logical link to a physical link is used. The user of the Knowledge Warehouse sets these context parameters, which are then analyzed when the information objects are displayed.
The logical links are replaced with physical links when a static variant of the display of information objects is created (for example, for display with the HTML Help Viewer). All links then point to physical info objects in a particular context (for example, Language: English, Release: AB). This procedure is known as instantiation of the links.
You create and delete structure links by editing structures.
You create a hyperlink by inserting it into the particular content object being edited and remove it by deleting the hotspot from the content object.
