In older versions of the translation tools (Basis Release 6.40 and lower), it was possible to lock collections in order to exclude them from the translation workflow — in other words, to ensure that objects from these collections did not arrive in the statistics and worklists for translators.
As of Basis 7.00, you can still “lock” collections, but there are a few different options:
The easiest way to exclude a collection from translation for all target languages is to make sure that it is never assigned to a translation graph — in other words, take no action for this collection.
If, however, you want a record of all collections that are locked for all target languages, you can create an “empty” translation graph (for example, a translation graph that contains no translation directions and that has status I (Inactive). You can then assign all collections that you want to exclude from translation into all target languages to this translation graph.
If specific collections are relevant for translation into some target languages, but not relevant for translation into other target languages, you need to create an active translation graph for the language directions for which translation is to take place and assign the collections in question to this graph. The collections are then excluded from translation into the target languages that are not maintained in this graph.
