Setting the System to Maintenance Mode 

Use

During maintenance times, you can set the forums system to maintenance mode. When the system is in maintenance mode, the Admin Console can still be accessed by administrators. Attempting to access all other functions causes the system to display the maintenance page for end users.

You should schedule maintenance times for off-peak hours and as infrequently as possible.

The maintenance schedule does not persist across application restarts even though the scheduled start and end times are still displayed. To re-enable the schedule after a restart, resave the form maintenance settings.

Procedure

       1.      From the Admin Console, open the Settings tab.

       2.      In the left-hand navigation pane, choose Maintenance Settings.

Starting the Maintenance Mode Immediately

       1.      Under Start maintenance mode immediately, select Yes.

       2.      Save the settings.

Scheduling the Maintenance Mode Period

...

       1.      Enter the start and end times for the maintenance mode period.

       2.      Optional: Enter the URL for a maintenance page.

       3.      Optional: Enter a maintenance alert text. This text is immediately visible to end users.

       4.      Save the settings.

Terminating the Maintenance Mode

Disable the immediate start of the maintenance mode or clear the start and end times and save.
