Use

SAP delivers the Room Directory iView in preconfigured form. You can change the properties of the Room Directory iView to suit your company-specific requirements.

Procedure

Display the Properties of the Room Directory iView

...

       1.      Choose Content Administration Portal Content.

       2.      Use the search function in the Portal Content Directory (PCD) to search for the Room Directory iView required:

Type of Room Directory

iView ID

Standard room directory

com.sap.netweaver.coll.RoomDirectory

Variant that displays all information rooms

com.sap.coll.Departments

Variant that displays all public rooms

com.sap.coll.Communities

Variant that displays all of the user’s team rooms

com.sap.coll.TeamRooms

Variant that displays all of the user’s project rooms

com.sap.coll.Projects

Variant that displays all of the user’s meeting rooms

com.sap.coll.Meetings

       3.      To display the iView properties, double-click the iView name.

       4.      Choose the Show All property category.

Configure the Scope or Size of the Room Directory

...

Set the View of the Roomdirectory iView property to the required value:

      LARGE (default value)

The room directory displays all specified information for each room.

      NARROW

This value reduces the scope and thus the width of the room directory. The room directory displays only the icon (with or without a public page) and the room name with the context menu for each room.

Configure Tab Pages in the Room Directory

...

Set the Pre-Selected Tab of the Roomdirectory iView property to the required value:

      ALL (default value)

The room directory displays the three tab pages in the following order:

                            a.      My Rooms (MYROOMS)

                            b.      Restricted Rooms (ALLROOMS)

                            c.      Public Rooms (PUBLICROOMS)

      List of specific tab pages

You can define the number and sequence of the tab pages in the room directory by entering the tab pages required in a list separated by commas.

For example: Entering MYROOMS, ALLROOMS means that the room directory displays the tab pages My Rooms and Restricted Rooms in the order specified.

Caution

If you are using the light room directory to display user-specific rooms, the MYROOMS tab page should appear first.

Optional: For the My Rooms (MYROOMS) and Restricted Rooms (ALLROOMS) tab pages, you can define which room types are displayed different to the default setting. To do this, enter the room types required in braces after the name of the tab page in question. The entries in the list must be separated by commas. The entries for the room types are public, private, or restricted.

Example

Example entries:

        MYROOMS{private,restricted},ALLROOMS{restricted,public}
Displays all of a user’s own public and restricted rooms on the My Rooms tab page and displays all available restricted and public rooms on the Restricted Rooms tab page

        MYROOMS{private},ALLROOMS,PUBLICROOMS
Displays all of a user’s own public rooms on the My Rooms tab page, all restricted rooms on the Restricted Rooms tab page, and all public rooms on the Public Rooms tab page

Recommendation

The size of the UME cache memory for users and user groups affects the performance of the display of rooms on the My Rooms tab page. You should therefore set the size of this cache memory sufficiently high. For more information about configuring the UME cache memory, see the User Management Engine (UME) documentation.

Configure the Room Directory Filter Function

..

       1.      Decide which of the following filter criteria are available in the room directory:

Filter Criterion

iView Property

Room category

Category filter set in the room directory

Template

Template filter set in the room directory

Room name (search string)

Search filter set in the room directory

                            a.      Yes (default value)

The filter criterion is displayed.

                            b.      No

The filter criterion is hidden. You can configure values for a hidden filter criterion that automatically filters entries when you launch the room directory.

       2.      To configure filter criteria for automatic filtering, enter the required values (categories, templates, search string) for the following iView properties:

Configured Filter Criterion

iView Property

Room category

Pre-selected category in the room directory

Template

Pre-selected template in the room directory

Room name (search string)

Pre-defined search string of the room directory

You have the following options for the entries for configuring categories and templates:

To display all rooms in the specified category or based on the specified template, use the positive notation,
for example:
Category1/Category2 or Template1/Template2.

To display all rooms that are not in the specified categories or based on the specified templates, use the negative notation. To do this, set the # character at the start of the list,
for example:
#Category1/Category2 or #Template1/Template2.

Change the Room Directory for Use in Global Portals

If you are using copies of the room directory in a global portal (for example, for suppliers), you can use the Parameters to Pass from Page Request (for URL Isolation) property to define which URL-dependent parameters the system passes to the current iView or page when you call a portal page.

This property only takes effect if the Isolation Method property is set to the value URL.

Syntax

The value * replaces the list of all parameters separated by commas (default setting).

To transfer only certain parameters, enter them in a list separated by commas, for example Parameter1,Parameter2,Parameter3.

To exclude certain parameters from the transfer, enter the parameters in question with a preceding *, for example, *,Parameter1,Parameter3.

Example

The example below shows how the configuration of the room directory affects the display of the available rooms:
