You can manage the connection ports and parameters of a content item using the Settings editor.

In the Settings editor, the Connections tab contains a table for ports and a table for parameters. The ports table displays either in ports or out ports, and lists the name, display name and description of each port. The parameters table lists the parameters of the selected port, including the parameter name, display name, description, and tags, which serve to clarify the significance of a parameter.

In the Connections tab, you can perform actions such as modifying the display name or description of a port or of a parameter, modifying or adding tags to a parameter, and in some cases, adding new ports and parameters.

The actions you can perform in the Connections tab depend on the type of the content item, as described in the following table:

Prerequisites

Your page contains connectable content items.

Procedure

  1. In the Content editor dropdown list, select Content.

  2. Choose Edit.

  3. In the content item title bar, choose Options (Options) and then choose Settings.

    The Settings editor appears.

  4. Choose the Connections tab.

  5. Select the port type: In ports or Out ports.

  6. Edit existing settings, as necessary.

  7. To add a port, choose New and specify the port’s display name and description.

  8. For the newly added port, add parameters as necessary.

    For each parameter, specify all the details, including name, display name, and description; and if necessary, add one or more tags separated by a comma.

  9. Save.
