Procedure documentationConfiguring an Approval Workflow for Device Deletion Locate this document in the navigation structure

You use this procedure, if you want to create a workflow for administrators to approve or reject a device deletion activity.

Note Note

Administrators can delete devices without configuring an approval workflow.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

Identify the administrator who should approve or reject the device deletion process.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the DOE system and choose transaction SU01, then assign the SAP_DOE_APPROVAL_ADMIN role to the identified administrator.

    Note Note

    • You can assign this role to more than one administrator.

    • Administrators can approve or reject devices that are deleted using the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administration (NWMA) interface.

However, in the case of devices deleted via receiver-generation data models, administrators can only approve device deletion using the NWMA interface. If devices are deleted accidentally, administrators do not have the interface in the NWMA to reject them. They have to fix them in the back-end system and perform a delta download again.

    End of the note.
  2. Log on to SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator.

  3. Choose Configuration and then DOE Configuration.

  4. In the Parameter Key and Name table, choose the DELETE_DEVICE_ON_APPROVAL row.

  5. In the Parameter List table, select the Change pushbutton and set the text value to 'X'.

Result

You have set up the appropriate role for the administrator and the process to trigger the workflow to approve or reject a device deletion activity.

Note Note

Whenever an administrator deletes a device after configuring the approval workflow:

  • Alerts are sent to the inbox of the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administrator portal for those administrators who are assigned to the SAP_DOE_APPROVAL_ADMIN role. These administrators can either approve or reject the deletion process.

After the device has been deleted successfully, system notifies all the administrators by sending an alert to their portal inbox.

  • If the workflow has been configured without assigning the SAP_DOE_APPROVAL_ADMIN role, the System Status is indicated by the red LED icon in the SAP NetWeaver Mobile Administration portal. It changes its status to the green LED icon only when at least one administrator assigned to the SAP_DOE_APPROVAL_ADMIN role becomes available.
