Stateful navigation ensures that portal users navigating to a certain location within a role are directed to the same location next time they access the role. You can configure the portal to use stateful navigation and also configure the portal to create stateful URLs.

Procedure

Enable Stateful Navigation in the Portal

  1. Go to   Content Administration   Portal Display   Framework Page Configuration  .

  2. In the Framework Page Configuration tool, in the Navigation section, select Enable Stateful Navigation.

  3. Save your changes.

Create Stateful URLs

Stateful URLs contain direct links to specific nodes in the navigation hierarchy.

  1. Go to   Content Administration   Portal Content Management  .

  2. In the Portal Catalog, go to   Portal Content   Portal Users   Standard Portal Users   Ajax Framework Content   Ajax Framework Page  .

  3. In the context menu of the Ajax Framework Page, choose   Open   Properties  .

  4. In the Properties editor, choose All to display all of the available properties.

  5. Choose Modify Properties.

  6. Locate the Enable Stateful URLs property, and select the checkbox.

  7. Save your changes.
