Data Archiving (CA-ARC) 

You use data archiving to remove from the database data from completed business transactions that are no longer relevant for operational business. You store the archived data in archive files to which the system has read-only access.

You have the following options for archiving data from SAP application systems:

ADK Archiving

This form of archiving is based on the Archive Development Kit (ADK). It is available for archiving data from SAP application systems that run on AS ABAP.

XML DAS Archiving

This form of archiving is based on the XML Data Archiving Service (XML DAS) that runs on AS Java. It is available for archiving data from SAP application systems that run on the following server types:

●      AS ABAP (as an alternative to ADK Archiving)

●      AS Java
