An XDC file is the printer description in XML format that Adobe Document Services require to create your print files. PDF documents can only be printed on printers for which there is an XDC file for the SAP device type in the system.

XDC files are delivered for the following SAP device types:

  • POST2 (generic device type, can be used for any PostScript printer)

  • HPLJ4

  • HP9500

  • AZPL203

  • AZPL300

Note Note

You do not usually need to make any modifications to these XDC files to use them for successful printing. However, you can edit XDC files in a text editor and manage them in the SAP system.

End of the note.

The XDC scenarios provide you with examples of how you can make specific settings for your printer.

Procedure

Use the SAP documentation about XDC scenarios to make the following settings in the XDC file:

  • Printer

  • Paper tray (not defined by default)

  • Paper format (such as A3)

For documentation about XDC scenarios, see SAP Service Marketplace at   Adobe   Media Library   Documentation  .
