Use

As of Release 7.0, the process of activating strong cryptography on the SAP NetWeaver Application Server Java (AS Java) has been simplified. You now only have to install the unlimited strength jurisdiction policy files from your Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE) vendor. (Per default, only limited policy files are delivered with the J2SE 1.4 packages.)

The policy files to use with the Sun Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition are available from Sun Microsystems, Inc. at java.sun.com. For other vendors, see their corresponding documentation.

Effects on System Administration

The process of activating strong cryptography now takes place during the installation. The only manual step necessary is the installation of the policy files, which is described in the installation guide for NW 7.0.
