This key figure specifies the actual sales value under the condition that it was a merchandise sale. The merchandise sale at retail value refers to the item total as detailed on the cash register receipt. Here the item total is not the price for each item but rather the total value of the item multiplied by the quantity. This means that when there is a positive sales quantity this value must also be positive.
If there is a negative sales quantity the sales value must also be negative. Item discounts are already included in this value. Depending on the local custom, taxes may (countries with value-added tax) or may not (for example, the USA) be included in this value. Customizing for tax categories specifies whether or not tax is included in this amount.
The Merchandise sales at retail value is delivered by the DataSources 0RT_PA_TRAN_CONTROL and 0RT_PA_TRAN_TOTALS and is filled by the PIPE field SALESAMOUNT if, in addition, the field RECORDQUALIFIER = ‘1100’ and RELITEMCAT = ‘A’ (condition for merchandise sales).
