CAF-GP Guided Procedures |
As of the current release, the Guided Procedures (GP) Workflow Engine becomes the recommended way to run GP processes. The GP Workflow Engine is directly embedded in the GP framework. In the latest releases, it has reached a significant level of:
· Scalability
· Reliability
· Performance
· Lean consumption and configuration
It is continually updated and improved for future releases to come.
The GP Workflow Engine requires no additional configuration of the process layer and is seamlessly integrated with the GP framework. This reduces resource consumption and simplifies the system landscape.
Additionally, some GP process capabilities, such as arbitrary jump across GP blocks, are only available on the GP Workflow Engine.
If you have configured GP processes to run on the Business Process Management (BPM) runtime, you are recommended to switch from the BPM engine to the GP Workflow Engine.
You do not have to configure the GP Workflow Engine explicitly in the Visual Administrator tool, since it is set as the default when deploying GP.
In case you have used BPM and want to switch to the recommended GP Workflow Engine, set the value of the system.workflowengine configuration parameter in the GP service caf/eu/gp/model to local.
