Function documentationReport Assignment Wizard

In SAP Customer Relationship Management (CRM), you can use the report assignment wizard to import different types of BW report from SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse and to assign these to selected business roles and their work centers. You can also import and assign reports that were created with SAP BusinessObjects tools, such as Xcelsius dashboards or enterprise server reports. Furthermore, you can select and assign interactive reports and Xcelsius dashboards for CRM interactive reporting. As well as the assignment to business roles, the wizard also allows you to share reports for certain users. You can use the wizard to publish interactive and SAP HANA Live reports and assign them to certain users or organizational units.

To use this function, you must activate the business function SAP BusinessObjects Integration and CRM Interactive Reporting (CRM_ANA_BOB).

Features

Choose Report Assignment to start the wizard and proceed as follows:

  1. In the first step, enter the following report details:

    • Enter a Title. The link to the imported report appears in the work center with this title.

    • Enter a Description. The description appears as a quick info text for the link to start the report.

    • Choose the report type, for example Xcelsius Dashboard.

    • Specify the technical name (ID) of the report. You can use the input help to search for available reports.

      Note Note

For BW reports, the wizard searches in SAP NetWeaver BW. You can accelerate this search by using the TREX search engine, if necessary. For more information, see Customizing for SAP NetWeaver at Start of the navigation path Business Intelligence Next navigation step Manage BI Metadata Search End of the navigation path.

      End of the note.
    • Select Based on Interactive Reporting if the report is an interactive report or a dashboard for CRM interactive reporting. For more information, see Interactive Reporting in CRM and Xcelsius Dashboards in CRM Interactive Reporting.

    • Enter the RFC connection of the BW system that you want to use as the source for the report (not applicable to interactive reports or Xcelsius dashboards of CRM interactive reporting).

      Note Note

If you do not make an entry here, the system uses the RFC connection of the standard BW system. You find the settings for the standard BW system as follows: Assign RFC Destinations for Synchronous Method Calls (transaction BD97) → CRMBWDEST. You define the RFC connection in RFC Destinations (Display/Maintain) (transaction SM59).

      End of the note.
  2. In the second step of the wizard, you define the work center in which the report appears:

    1. Choose a business role, for example Analytics.

    2. In the list of available work centers for the selected business role, select the work centers in which you want the report to appear under Visible in Work Center.

  3. In the third step, you can share the report for certain users or organizational units:

    • Choose Add Employee to search for employees and add them to the authorized employee list.

    • Choose Add Employees from Organization to search for organizational units and add them to the authorized employee list.

Choose Save. You can also save the assignment of a report to a business role without sharing it for certain users. Create a transport request or choose an existing transport request.

Note Note

If you assign an SAP NetWeaver BW report that was previously not used in CRM, the system cannot reliably find the report in the Search. Use the program Availability Check and Metadata Replication for BW Reports (CRM_OR_UPDATE_BW_REPORT_ATTR) to transfer the BI metadata to the CRM system, and make it available for the report search.

End of the note.
