An object is created with configuration values by linking it to a configurable product. This object is fully configured and is an object variant.
The configurable characteristics assigned to the configurable product are assigned values specifically for the object. These constitute the configuration values for this object variant.
Configurable products are generally replicated from SAP ECC.
For more information about creating and modeling configurable products, see Configurable Products .
You can do the following:
Create objects with configuration values (object variants).
Change the configuration values of objects created in SAP CRM.
Copy objects, including their configuration values, and change the configuration values subsequently.
Change the configuration values of objects downloaded from SAP ECC.
Data downloaded from SAP ECC cannot generally be changed in SAP CRM. To override this rule, choose in Customizing
. Make an entry for the set type COMM_PROD_VAR so that the configuration values can be changed. Create an object in the normal manner, and specify a configurable product in the
Configurable Product
field..
When you have assigned an object a configurable product, this cannot be reversed nor a different configurable product assigned once you have saved or maintained configuration values.
The
Configuration
assignment block contains the characteristics of the configurable product. You can now maintain values as appropriate and save the configuration.
Note
The configuration values of object variants can be displayed in the Interaction Center (IC) WinClient, but cannot be changed.
