Procedure documentationEditing Simple Charges

Thís procedure describes how you specify a simple charge. A simple charge consists of only one condition item and does not have tiers or intervals.

You also use the settings on the Condition Determination tab page. The period of used is of particular importance in the calculation of charges. For example, you use it to determine that charge calculation takes place with a monthly period of use. The system calculates charges three times if you have quarterly settlement periods.

Prerequisites

  1. You have made all necessary settings so that the fields for creating a simple charge are available.

For more information about the required settings, see the decision table in the documentation for each amount category that is relevant for the charge.

  2. The system displays condition editing on the Calculation tab page.

Procedure

You can make the following settings:

  1. In the Tiers/Interval field, enter the value No Tiered or Interval Calculation.

If you use condition determination, enter the value No Tiers for Condition Determination in the Tiers for Condition Determination field.

  2. Enter the amount that you want to charge per item.

If you define the condition as a markup condition, you can enter an amount with a divisor for an absolute markup and a percentage rate for a relative markup. For more information, see Markup Condition.

  3. You use the divisor to map the amount as a part of the smallest currency unit.

    Example Example

You want to levy a charge of 1/10 cent per item. You cannot enter this value directly. You can map this case by entering 0.01 in the Amount filed and 10 in the Divisor field. The system calculates with 1/10 cent per item.

    End of the example.
  4. You can enter a minimum amount.

If the resulting charge amount is smaller than the minimum amount, the system charges the minimum amount to the customer. Similarly, you can restrict the resulting charge amount to a maximum amount.

Result

You have defined a simple charge.
