Function documentationMapping of a Collateral Constellation

Caution Caution

The mapping of a collateral constellation is needed only for technical product bundle products, for example for bundled retail mortgage loan products such as FS_BUNDLE 05.

For more information about the maintenance of a collateral constellation in a banking customer quote, see Maintenance of a Retail Loan Item.

End of the caution.

When you process product master data, you create collateral constellations for financial service products (FS products) in order to safeguard mortgage loans, for example. You create a collateral constellation by creating relationships between FS products and product categories.

Integration

Since SAP Customer Relationship Management (SAP CRM) transfers the collateral constellations to the connected collateral-managing system, the products and relationships that you create in SAP CRM must match the products and relationships in the back-end system.

Note Note

In the standard system, you can enter only objects of the category Real Estate and the agreement type Group Lien.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have defined the possible object types in Customizing.

For more information, see Customizing for Financial Services under Start of the navigation path Account Origination Next navigation step Financial Service Product (FS Product) Next navigation step Property Values Next navigation step Real Estate Next navigation step Define Object Types End of the navigation path.

  • You have defined the possible agreement types in Customizing.

For more information, see Customizing for Financial Services under Start of the navigation path Account Origination Next navigation step Financial Service Product (FS Product) Next navigation step Collateral Agreements Next navigation step Define Agreement Types End of the navigation path.

    Caution Caution

When you create a collateral constellation, account origination transfers the data to the connected collateral-managing system; the settings in SAP CRM must therefore match the settings in the collateral-managing system.

For more information about the configuration of the ContractOrigination andLoanContractOrigination business scenarios, see SAP Solution Manager.

    End of the caution.

Features

The following figure shows a collateral constellation typically used for mortgage loans:

An overview of the elements of a collateral constellation is provided below:

  • Elements of a collateral constellation that you map using products:

    • Object: mapped as a product of the type Material and category Real Estate.

For more information, see Mapping of Objects.

    • Collateral agreement: mapped as a product of the type Financial Service (FS product) and category Collateral Agreement.

    • Receivable: Mapped as a product of the type Financial Service (FS product) and category Loan.

  • Elements of a collateral constellation that you map using relationships:

    • Charge: determines the amount by which an asset (object) is debited by a collateral agreement.

Mapped as an FS relationship with the purpose Collateral Charge.

    • Purpose declaration: defines the scope of collateral for the receivables assigned to a collateral agreement.

Mapped as an FS relationship with the purpose Collateral Scope.

For more information, see Linking of FS Products and Product Categories in FS Quotations.

      Note Note

You can also link a receivable (mortgage loan) to an asset value. This makes sense if you want to transfer the conditions of the object to the loan item in the business transaction, for example. To do this, you link the loan product with either the object directly or-for a more flexible option-with the category of the object.

      End of the note.
