NWBC for HTML
SAP NetWeaver Business Client for HTML (NWBC for HTML) is a browser-based, light version of NWBC with zero footprint that is supported for ABAP systems only. NWBC for HTML offers a subset of functionality for the desktop and uses established roles from PFCG. It is aimed for casual users of NWBC. With the UI add-on for SAP NetWeaver 1.0 and SAP NetWeaver 7.4, the latest version of NWBC for HTML 3.6 is available. It offers support for SAPUI5, Unified Rendering, and for service maps designed in a custom theme, and forms the basis for new developments.
The look and feel of NWBC for HTML is very similar to NWBC for Desktop 3.<x>. NWBC for HTML can be rendered with the signature and Corbu themes. The functions available to the individual users depend on the PFCG roles that are assigned to them. As with NWBC for Desktop, both shell and content area are available, but without quick navigation, menu entries, quick launch, and so on.
NWBC for HTML is ABAP only. It uses exactly the same URL as NWBC for Desktop.
Differences Between NWBC for Desktop and NWBC for HTML
No extra installation is needed for NWBC for HTML. It is automatically available within your ABAP system. The following table provides an overview of the different features offered in NWBC for Desktop and NWBC for HTML:
