Object documentationRelated Materials

You can use the Related Materials product relationship to link Intellectual Properties (IPs) and (physical) materials.

The relationship can be used to store information about the material to be shipped if licenses for the corresponding IP are sold .

This relationship is represented using the Related Materials relationship type.

Example Example

You publish the transfer rights for a specific sporting event. You want to provide the licensee with the videotape of the event and a tape with the commentary so that they can exploit these IP rights.

End of the example.

The system performs the following checks for the material product relationship:

  • The material relationship type can only be maintained between an IP and a material.

  • You can only enter single level relationships for the material relationship type.

  • An IP cannot appear several times in a relationship tree.
