Object documentationRights Owned

You record the rights to the IP, which your media company owns or which you represent, as rights owned.

Rights owned are not dependent on whether rights have been released for sale or have already been sold.

Note Note

The rights owned, release dates and release restrictions rights components are defined by the rights dimensions according to the requirements of your media company. The combination of rights dimensions produces a unique description of the rights. Possible rights dimensions within the rights components include the market, territory and language.

Exclusivity

The entry in the Exclusivity type field for rights usage defines whether a right can be used by several licensees simultaneously and any conditions that apply to this usage.

The exclusivity type is recorded in the Intellectual Property (IP) and in license acquisition and license sale contracts. You define the exclusivity type with which an IP is available in the rights owned by your media company in the IP.

Note Note

If you do not define the exclusivity type in the IP, the system assumes that you own the right exclusively.

End of the note.
Options

If you have an option that is not exercised, this indicates that you own an option to acquire the corresponding rights in the associated period. You also specify the period in which the option can be exercised.

Note Note

Options are not observed during the rights availability analysis.
