Configuring the Use of the SAP Cryptographic Library for SNC

Use

To set up a server to use the SAP Cryptographic Library for SNC, see the procedure below. Note that the procedure varies depending on the type of server you are configuring and the tools that are available. The exact procedures for the different servers and tools are described in the topics that follow.

Procedure

  1. Install the SAP Cryptographic Library.
  2. Create a PSE and self-signed public-key certificate.
  3. If the component has several hosts, then you can create a single PSE on one host and copy it to the other hosts.

  4. Create credentials for the server.
  5. Provide the server's security information to its communication partners so that the servers can identify each other using SNC.
  • If you use a single PSE for all servers, then copy the PSE to the appropriate location on the other servers.
  • If you created individual PSEs for each server, then you must exchange their public-key certificates.
  1. Perform any connection-specific SNC configurations and activate SNC.
