Procedure documentationSetting up the ASCII Adapter Client on the Administration Server

Procedure

  1. Start the setup of the ASCII Adapter and the Client software from the respective CDs.

  2. If the client software is Oracle, in the Oracle for NT option choose SQL *Net Easy Config and configure the physical information that leads to the database server i.e., protocol used, machine name of RDBMS-server, TCP/IP port.

    Note Note

The standard Oracle port that will be proposed is 1521. Often this will be different for ERP. Configure the port to certain common values like 1522 or 1527. After completion of the definition of a database connection, you can log on to the RDBMS for test purposes. There, enter the database user / password that also will be used by the ERP kernel in order to access the RDBMS. Very often sapr3 as user and sap as password will work.

    End of the note.
