If you want to display the rebate conditions in the sales order or the invoice, or if you want to use the direct rebate function when processing consumable rebates, and the setup of earning, waiting and consumption periods allows for breaks in earning, you have assigned calculation formula 12001 to the rebate condition type in the pricing procedure.

For performance reasons, this setting is only to be made for the corresponding condition types.
If you want to integrate external products into your consumable rebate program, you have made the Customizing settings described under External Products .
The sales volume for a customer is accumulated within a defined earning period and the resulting earned rebate balance is calculated. The customer can return products against this rebate balance within a defined consumption period. If a waiting period has been defined, the customer may be required to wait before he or she is allowed to return products.
When the customer requests a return of products, the return value is validated against the rebate account balance. The total value of the customer's returns is restricted to the amount of the earned rebate balance for a particular period.
Rebates earned in one particular earning period can only be consumed in one particular consumption period. However, the remaining rebate balance at the end of a consumption (return) period can be rolled over for use in the next consumption period, settled in the form of a credit memo, or set to zero. For more information about posting a balance rollover or closing periods, see Process Types for Consumable Rebates .
