 Partial Settlement

Use

In most cases, rebate agreements are valid over an extended validity period, and rebate recipients might require payments for rebates during this period. You use partial settlement to settle these rebate agreements.

Note Note

In the settlement profile, you can specify a payment delay in days to control how long the system must wait after the partial settlement date before partial settlement actually takes place. This ensures that settlement does not take place prematurely, and that any cancellations, or returns are taken into consideration beforehand. For more information, see Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Start of the navigation path Rebate Processing Next navigation step Rebate Profiles End of the navigation path .

Partial settlement is not permitted, if partial settlement for the same agreement with a later date already exists.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have released the rebate agreements that you want to settle.

To release all items for settlement, click Change Status in the assignment block Item in the rebate agreement, and choose Release All Items for Partial Settlement .

To release a single item for settlement, click Change Status in the item details, then choose Release Item for Partial Settlement .

  • In the rebate due list or in the item details of the rebate agreement , you have chosen the process type Partial Settlement .

Example

In Rebate Agreement A, you grant your customer a discount of 3% for the purchase of Material X. The validity period of the rebate agreement is January 1, 2007 to December 31, 2010 . Your customer does not want to wait until the end of the rebate agreement validity period before receiving rebate payments. You therefore agree to make partial payments on a monthly basis. You specify that partial settlement is permitted in the rebate profile for the respective rebate agreement.
