Creating Business Process Flow Instances

The authorized user can create a Business Process Flow (BPF) instance within the administration console. This activates a BPF template using a specific BPF identifier, which enables end-user participation in the process. It also establishes the BPF instance owner.

Up to 24 BPF instances per BPF template can be created.

A BPF template has been created and validated.

The BPF instance is unique from the template once generated. Any changes to the template definition do NOT impact previously generated BPF Instances.

Generating a BPF instance creates all steps, step regions, and substeps required for the BPF.

Select the relevant BPF template, and from the action pane, choose Create BPF Instance:

The identity dimensions that are displayed in Create BPF Instance — Step 1 of 2 in the action pane reflect the selection you made in the Setup BPF > B. Define Instance Identifiers step in the template creation interface.

Select a dimension member for each of the identity dimensions from the dialog box that appears. The dimension member can be a parent or base member. The purpose is mainly to distinguish the BPF instance.

Choose Create Instance — Step 2 of 2.
Select the instance owner. The list of people available here is taken from the users and teams that you selected in the Setup BPF > C. Set Access step in the template creation interface.

Choose Create BPF Instance.
A preview of the BPF instance is displayed. Update the owner or reviewer for a specific step region using the Update Owner and Update Reviewer tasks available in the action pane.
To generate the instance, choose Finish.

Result
