Use

The search for rooms, for example, in the room directory, in room administration, or in the room relations manager, has been set to use the SAP search engine Search and Classification (TREX) by default.

TREX allows high-performance searching for rooms, above all if you have created a large number of rooms.

Effects on System Administration

Index administration

In the case of the search for rooms using TREX, the system automatically creates the search index required when the system is started (or uses the existing index) und indexes the corresponding content in the Content Management folder /rooms. For each listing of rooms, the system searches the search index.

Note

To ensure that the search results are up-to-date, regular index administration is necessary.

Switching to the previous search method

Alternative to the search using TREX, the previous search method (Content Management search interface) is also available. You can switch to the other method as follows:

·        Automatically

If the index does not exist and an error occurs during creation of the index when the system starts, the system automatically deactivates the use of TREX. In this case, the system uses the Content Management search interface to search for rooms.

·        Manually

If you are using only small number of rooms in your company, and you not require a high-performance search, you can manually deactivate TREX. In this case, the system switches automatically to the Content Management search interface.
