Function documentation Detaching Queries Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Functions

A query inserted in a workbook can be recognized by the connection between cell areas of the worksheet (filter and results area) with the data of the query in the Business Information Warehouse server (OLAP-Server). In a hidden part of the workbook, information is held on the displayed views of the data. This guarantees the technical connection. This connection remains even if the connection between the Business Explorer and the R/3 System is interrupted. After the interruption, you can display the current report data for the current report view by refreshing the query. As long as there is a connection to the server, the functions of the OLAP server (functions of the context menu and the toolbar) are offered for filter cells and the results area.

The function Detach Query deletes the connection between the cell areas of the query and the report data. If you detach the query then the visible data area on the worksheet remains but can no longer be navigated through and also no longer be refreshed.

Caution

The function Detach query can no longer be undone.

Activities

You can delete the connection between the cell areas of the queries and the data, by choosing Tools ® All Q ueries in the Workbook ® Detach in the toolbar.
