Administrating Crystal Reports
Administrative tasks may arise in the following areas when working with Crystal Reports in BW, as a result of the integration architecture and changes to the system landscape:
· Publishing Crystal reports using Crystal Enterprise
· Adjusting the server installation settings.
· Synchronizing the directory structure in Crystal Enterprise and in the BW system.
· Updating the management of Crystal reports in BW roles.
You
can find additional information about the integration architecture and the
process behind it under
Formatted Reporting:
Crystal Reports Integration and
Creating and
Distributing Formatted Reports.
Before you can implement, and, if required, manage formatted reporting with Crystal Reports, you need to have adjusted the required system settings for the integration of Crystal Enterprise and for the configuration of formatted reporting. These are found in Customizing.
The following activities are particularly important here (Refer to: BW Customizing Implementation Guide -> Business Information Warehouse -> Links to Other Systems -> Crystal Enterprise Integration):
· Crystal Enterprise Installation
· Set Up Authorizations
· Connection between Crystal Publisher and BW
· Set Parameter for URLs
· Set Logon Group
· Set Parameter for SSO
In the BW system, the following SAP reports have been made available for the various administrative tasks involved in the integration of Crystal Reports:
Managing Crystal Reports (RSCR_ADMIN_REPORTS)

This report enables you to delete Crystal Reports and to re-start publishing with Crystal Enterprise.
Checking Installation Settings (RSCR_CHECK_INSTALLATION_PARAMS)

You usually only need this report when setting up the system. Refer to the activity in the “Prerequisites” section of the BW Customizing Implementation Guide.
Clean Role Tree (RSCR_ROLES_REORG)

Only use this report when cleaning the role tree is absolutely necessary. This is the case when you have removed a number of references to Crystal Reports in role maintenance (transaction PFCG).
Update Role Structure(RSCR_SYNCHRONIZE_ROLES)

We recommend you schedule this report to run once every day.
