Function documentation Display Using Web Folders Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You can view records, cases and documents using web folders, that is, outside the Records Management user interfaces. Web folders are offered by Microsoft, for example, and can be displayed in Windows Explorer.

Integration

Records Management has implemented a WebDAV server that can be accessed by a WebDAV client (such as WebFolders).

Note

This functionality should not be confused with the WebDAV client offered by Records Management. This can be used to display documents in Records Management, which are stored in any WebDAV server (such as SAP Portal). See Storage Using WebDAV ).

Prerequisites

You have performed Customizing for web folders. You can find the relevant IMG activities in Records Management Customizing under Customizing WebDAV Server. For more information, see Customizing for the WebDAV Server.

Features

You can display and change documents, and check them into Records Management. You can also find documents using predefined searches. To open the documents, you have to specify the logon data for the relevant SAP system. You do not need to open the system, however.

Activities

To user web folders, you need to set up a new network place in Windows Explorer. Here, you need to enter the URL of the server on which the Records Management system is running. For more information, see Web Folders in Windows Explorer .

You can then view all documents,.ordered according to the same criteria as in the Records Management interfaces. All objects that contain further elements are shown as folders. For further information see Working with Web Folders.
