CCMS: Oracle
You can perform most regularly-recurring database administration tasks from within the SAP System by using the DBA tools of the CCMS. As the table below shows, after installation, reorganizations and certain other tasks are the only tasks that cannot be carried out from within the SAP System.

The main CCMS tools for database administration are:
· Displaying Backup Logs and Status (Transaction DB12): Check the status of database backups
· The DBA Planning Calendar (Transaction DB13): Automatically schedule and execute database operations (for example, database backups, update statistics, and database checks)
· Displaying DBA Logs (Transaction DB14): Access action logs created by BRSPACE, BRBACKUP, BRARCHIVE, BRCONNECT or an external program
·
The Data Archiving
administration tool (
Transaction DB15):
Determine the archiving objects for a specific table or determine the tables
that a specific archiving object archives. Display various statistics for the
amount of used database space. See also
Determining Space
Information (Oracle).
· The Database System Check (Transactions DB16 and DB17): Configure and check important database parameters to be able to recognize critical database situations in time.
· Update Statistics(Transactions DB20 and DB21): Configure the cost-based optimizer, and check and update optimizer statistics
· The DB Operations Monitor (Transaction DB24): Online monitoring of database operations (for example, data backups, database checks, and so on)
· Online Maintenance of Database Parameters (Transaction DB26): Details and history of database parameters
· Maintaining Database Connection Information (Transaction DBCO): Information about additional, non-standard database connections
·
The
SAP/Oracle Database
Monitor (New): Detailed database performance information and
histories
·
The
SAP/Oracle Database
Monitor (Old): Detailed database performance information and
histories
