Kanban ID Settings
An ID type defines how an ID is encoded on the RFID tag or how it is constructed for use in the external system interfaces. If your company has business requirements that dictate how your kanban IDs are constructed,. for example the tag IDs generated for RFID-enabled Kanban at your company must have the capability to switch between a 96 and 176-bit length, you can define your own ID types for your kanbans.
We deliver an ID type for Kanban that you can use as a template to create your own kanban ID type. For more information about defining ID types, see the Implementation Guide (IMG) in Customizing for Auto-ID Infrastructure under Basic Settings ® ID Settings ® Maintain ID Types.
You only need to maintain kanban ID settings if you create your own ID type.
1. On the SAP Easy Access screen, choose Auto-ID Infrastructure → RFID-Enabled Kanban → Master Data → ID Settings.
2. Choose Append Row.
3. For each location, enter an ID version, encoding type, filter value, asset type, company prefix, and identifier for plant, source system, or location.
4. Choose Save.
