Setting Up Mobile Landscape 

Purpose

You use this IT process to install the SAP NetWeaver Application Server and to define the basic configurations for the MI usage type.

Using the Process

This IT process is part of the following IT scenario:

Process Flow

       1.      Install SAP NetWeaver Application Server

You install the SAP NetWeaver Application Server with the usage types JAVA AS, ABAP AS and MI.

       2.      Configure SAP NetWeaver Application Server for mobile use

After the SAP NetWeaver Application Server has been installed, you configure it (once only) for use with SAP Mobile Infrastructure and prepare the installation of the mobile devices.  You configure the following areas:

                            a.      General Settings (for example, setting up background jobs, role editing)

                            b.      Configuration of Mobile Administrator

                            c.      Configuration of Smart Synchronization

                            d.      Configuration of the Computing Center Management System (CCMS)

                            e.      Preconfiguration of the SAP MI Client Component (Optional)

                              f.      Configuration of Security (Optional)

                            g.      Configuration of Authentication (Optional)

                            h.      Framework Deployment

Result

You have completed the basic configuration. You now need to execute the IT process Implementing Mobile Applications.
