Working Offline
An Internet connection may not always be available to you. Thanks to the portal drive’s offline feature, any files recently accessed or marked as Always Available Offline are accessible even if the Internet is not available.
Go to the Connect tab, select the service, and choose Work Offline.
If the service is already connected online to the server, you must first disconnect before working offline. When doing so, make sure you close any files that are open on the server.
If you have work offline for a while, you probably need to synchronize your work with the server. The portal drive automatically synchronizes your offline work with the server the next time you connect online.
If a file you edited has been updated on the server since you last synchronized, the system displays a dialog box asking you which action you want to take. You can generally choose either to overwrite the other user's edits, to save your changes to another location, or to discard your edits.
To manually synchronize your files, choose Synchronize Now on the Offline tab of the portal drive client. You only need to do this to update your local cache in line with latest copies from the server.
Any files that you worked on recently are available offline until the cache is cleared. However, to make sure that important files are always available offline, you should mark them as always available offline.
