Procedure documentationDefining Technical Systems for the BS System on PI-SLD Locate this document in the navigation structure

 

A technical system with the role of an Integration Server must be defined in the System Landscape Directory (SLD).

Procedure

  1. On the PI host, enter the following URL: http://J2EE_Host>:<J2EE_Port>sld.

    Note Note

    The following naming convention applies for <J2EE_Port>:5<J2EE_instance_number>00, for example 50000 if your J2EE instance is 00.

  2. Enter user and password.

  3. Choose New Technical System.

  4. From the list of technical system types, select Web AS ABAP and choose Next.

  5. In Details, enter the following information for your BS system and choose Next:

    • Web AS Name(SID): <your SID>

    • Installation Number: <10-digit number>

  6. Enter the required information under Message Server and Central Application Server and choose Next.

  7. Optional: Under Additional Application Server, in the Host Name/Instance Number field, enter your host name and instance number and choose Add.

    A new entry is added on the Application Server list.

  8. If no more entries need to be added, choose Next.

  9. In the Client screen, enter the required data and choose Add.

    A new entry is added on the Client list.

  10. If no more entries need to be added, choose Next.

  11. Under Software Products and Components, select SAP R/3, 4.6C and choose Add.

  12. If no more entries need to be added, choose Next.

  13. Choose Finish to complete the new technical system creation. You have successfully defined the technical system.
