Copying Collection Assignments From Another System 

Use

This function enables you to copy translators’ collection assignments from one system to another.

Translation is moving from system TR1 to system TR2. You want to copy the collection assignments for target language French from system TR1 (source system) to TR2 (target system) so that they are identical in both systems.

Prerequisites

·        The source and target systems are on Basis Release 7.0.

·        Your translator profile contains the authorization object COSE with the value 01.

·        You, or another coordinator, have assigned collections to translators in the source system from which the assignments need to be copied.

·        The collections are in the same translation area in the source and target systems.

·        The translators whose collection assignments need to be copied have already been created as translators in the target system.

·        An RFC connection exists in the target system (that is, the system to which the assignments need to be copied.) The RFC destination is the system from which you want to copy. Transaction SM59 enables you to find out whether an RFC destination already exists. For more information, see Displaying, Maintaining, and Testing Destinationssapurl_link_0010_0004_0005.

Procedure

       1.      In the target system, call transaction LXE_MASTER.

       2.      On the Translators tab page, choose Assign Collections.

       3.      Enter the translation area in the field next to Other System.

       4.      In the second input field next to Other System, enter the name of the system from which the assignments need to be copied.

       5.      Click the Choose pushbutton for Other System.

       6.      Log on to the source system.

       7.      Click the Choose pushbutton next to Translators.

       8.      Expand the node of the translator’s target language, and select the translator.

       9.      Choose Continue.

The system takes you back to the target system. The collections selected in the source system have been copied.

   10.      Assign the collections in the usual way.

If you want to copy collection assignments from a system on a lower Basis Release, call transaction SLWA in that system, choose the Packages tab page, and select the collections to be copied. To export these collections, click the Clipboard pushbutton.

In the target system, call transaction LXE_MASTER, choose the Translators tab page, and choose Assign Collections. To import the copied collections, click the Choose pushbutton next to Clipboard.
