Prerequisites

·         The target language has been set up in the system in question. See Setting Up the Target Language.

·         Your translator profile includes the authorization LAOB (Maintain Object Type Assignments / Distribution Parameters) with the value 01.

Procedure

...

       1.      Call transaction LXE_MASTER.

       2.      On the Languages tab page, choose Object Types.

       3.      Select the target language for which you want to maintain the object types.

The Object Types dialog box is displayed.

       4.      Choose Object Types.

The object type selection window that now appears enables you to select individual object types or object groups for translation. To do so, select the object type or object group. If you want to define all object types for translation, select the top node Object Type Selection.

       5.      Choose Execute.

       6.      The selected object types are displayed in the Object Types dialog box, together with the user who defined these settings and the date on which they were last changed.

       7.      If you want to lock a specific object type for translation, select it and choose Delete Selected Entries.

       8.      Repeat this procedure for all other target languages defined in your system.

Result

The displayed object types are now released for translation into the selected target languages. The next time the evaluation runs, the object types are evaluated for this target language and included in the statistics.

You can now maintain the distribution parameters for the object types.

Example

You want to define the object groups so that only the short texts are translated into French. No long texts should be translated, except for data element long texts (object type DE.)

.

In the Object Type Selection window, select object groups A1, KP, LL, RO, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, and S8 as well as object type DE, which belongs to object group L5.
